A Little History

The first 97th group was Sea Scouts, started in 1961, followed by Venturers. In 1963 Cubs started. The Beavers started in 1976.

We were sponsored by St.Bartholomew's until it's amalgamation with St. Timothy's in 2000, becoming The Church of the Resurrection Anglican Church.

We were given the privilige of creating the new crest of the phoenix rising out of the ashes to signify the amalgamation of the two churches. This is the crest that is currently used by the 97th Scout Group and the Church.
