Beavers are the youngest of the Scouting sections - ages 5-7 and are very energestic and enthusiastic. The program is designed for this, by providing games, action, songs and other activites for this age level.
We are also a group that likes to keep the "out" in Scouting by incorporating many outings such as trips, camping or playing outside, into our programs.
The story Friends of the Forest is the basis for the Beaver program. From this story we get our motto Sharing, Sharing, Sharing, as the Beavers share with each other. We also get the law - A beaver has fun, works hard and helps his family and friends. This is seen when the Jones family observes the Beavers helping one another.
It is also from this story that the Beaver Leaders receive their names. The Beavers encounter the Jones family and through observation assign each family member a name. So we have Tic Tac the Squirrel, Malak the Owl, Hawkeye the Father and Rainbow the Mother who wears a shirt of many colours. Keeo is a Beaver who has been struck by ligthning and can now speak with the humans. He is the link between Wolf Cubs and Beavers.
