Events Calendarcamp

The 97th Group plans a number of events aimed at linking the various sections. Please keep these events in mind when planning your calendar, as they are just as important as weekly meetings - and as much fun!

                                        Family Camp Fire August 2007

Apple Day

Apple day is to raise funds to maintain Camp Nemo. Because we participate in apple day, we don't pay a fee to use the camp.

Halloween Howl

This social event is held the closest Friday to Halloween. It is a fun filled event for both partents and youth. Games, refreshments, music and a haunted house can all be enjoyed.

Bowl-a-thon

This fund-raiser is strictly for the 97th. All the youth participate in this event. It is usually held on a weekday in the latter part of January.

Church Parade

In order to show our thanks to the Group Sponsor, we ask that all youth attend a service at the Church of the Resurrection once a year - usually a Sunday morning during Scouting week in February. Please make an effort to attend the service.

Annual Banquet

This banquet is for all the youth and their parent. It is usually held during Scouting week in February and is a pot luck event. The evening concludes with entertainment - usually provided by the youth.

Linking Ceremony

This is usually the final event of the Scouting year and it is held in May or June. It celebrates Beavers swimming up to Cubs, Cubs moving up to Venturers. Refreshments are served - usually a barbecue.

Scout/Guide Parade

A chance for all youth to celebrate Scouting by participating in one of the largest parades, usually held the last Saturday in May.
