Greetings from your new Group Commissioner.

I was very pleased to be appointed in July as Group Commissioner for the 97th, as this marks a homecoming for me.  I started my Scouting life as a Cub, Sea Scout and Sea Venturer with the 97th, becoming an Assistant Scout leader in 1975 and Skipper in 1980.  I followed that up by becoming the Venturer Advisor in 1985 and moving into the Group Committee in 1988.  After taking a few years away from Scouting to tend to my growing family, I returned in 2000 with the 13th Hamilton Group Committee, being appointed as their Group Commissioner in 2004.  This year marks my 25th year in leadership.

I am looking forward to working with the great leadership teams that we have here at the 97th to strengthen and grow our programs even more.
