Sea Scouts

sea scouts

Our Sea Scouts represent The Provincial Marines of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and as such participate in the Battle Re-enactment of the War of 1812, held in and around Fort George at Niagara-on-the-Lake. The Scouts camp at Fort George and receive battle training before repelling the hordes from the south. This past year of 2300 youth were involved in the battles.

Sea scouts also spend 2 weekends at camp Nemo for Fall and Christmas Camps and Valens Conservation Area for Winter and Spring camps. Also this year, they joined the International Camp held in Stoney Creek. At all these camps, the Scouts practice and learn camp and survival skills and become more and self sufficient.

Community service is an important part of Scouting and our Scouts have b een involved in activities from singing Christmas Carols for the folks at St. Peter's to heping out with dishwashing and table bussing for the Church's Annual Pancake Supper! Helping old ladies across the street was an invention of a magazine write years ago, but Scouting is still about helping in the community and having fun in doing it!
